It is with very great sadness that we share the below messages about the tragic death of Stephen Young:

"Stephen was part of an experienced all adult Kent team, who were in Cairngorms as part of their annual trip to the region to expand their winter hill walking skills.
 
Stephen was an assistant Scout Leader at Ightham and member of the Invicta Mountaineering team and our youngest County trustee.
 
We and the Association are supporting locally and in Scotland.
 
Stephen will be sadly missed.
 
Our thoughts and prayers are with Stephens’s family."

Stephen was one of our strongest supporters, keen to join us as soon as he was old enough. 

He was a young person who enjoyed climbing and walking and joined us on many of our trips.  I'm sure I speak for everyone in the IMC when I add that our thoughts are with Jude, Andy and all of their family.
