Kent Scout Network in association with the Invicta Mountaineering Club (IMC) are please to offer this fantastic opportunity to all adult members of Kent Scouts.
Travelling in August 2012, an intrepid group of Scouts will be in Tanzania - to climb the highest mountain in Africa.
This 14 day expedition is only open to members of the Association over the age of 18 on 1st August 2012.
Arriving in Tanzania, the expedition will spend a short time in Dar es Salaam, before an acclimatisation climb on
Mt Meru. At 14,980ft Meru is the second highest mountain in Tanzania; the trek to the summit will take 3 days.
Following Mt Meru will be a 7 day trek on Mt Kilimanjaro, aiming to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 19,340ft.
An acclimatisation friendly 7 day trek on this non-tourist route will result in at least a 90% chance of individual success.

Winter Walking Weekend |

The aim of this weekend is to give participants experience of walking in winter conditions, including the use of an ice axe and crampons if conditions are suitable. We provide nice warm indoor accommodation, breakfasts and Saturday evening meal plus all specialist equipment and authorised, experienced adult leaders for each group. Minimum age 12.
