Hill Walking, Southern Snowdonia

14th September 2022

A small but perfectly formed group decamped to Caer Meddyg Farm, near Harlech on the West Cost of Wales for a look at the Rhinogs. It's been a very long time (if ever) since the IMC have walked these hills but we'll certainly be going back!

In some lovely weather on Saturday we drove into Cwm Nantcol and traversed over Rhinog Fair and below Rhinog Fach: Gentle, heathery slopes giving way so some very steep rocky ones. There's a lot of geology here in quite a small area and with almost nobody else about to admire it. The sunset and moon rise were pretty special too.

On Sunday we returned to complete the traverse of Y Llether that we didn't have the time or energy to do on Saturday.

Huge thanks to IMC member Bernard for his hospitality and use of his field and facilities.
