Mountain Training - NGB Awards
Mountain Training are the National Governing Body (NGB) for hill walking, climbing and mountaineering and their awards scheme is completely separate from that of the The Scout Association Permit Scheme.
The two schemes have no formal interaction – except that Scout Assessors are expected to hold the relevant NGB award.
However, The Scout Association aspires to instruct its permit holders to the same high standard as the NGB qualification which means there are inevitably similarities between the two schemes.
IMC encourage any scout hill walking permit holder to also consider progressing through the NGB scheme.
