February in Snowdonia

12th February 2024

Conditions were looking wintery this year then boom...overnight it warmed-up and the snow all melted away. So all the winter kit stayed in its bags once again but we were able to make the most of some stunning conditions on Saturday, with all four groups bagging routes over the tops of either the Glyders or Carneddau.

Sunday was a little colder but still much better than forecast with two groups pushing for yet another top, dashing up and over Y Garn in the morning. The other two groups concentrated on some navigation practice at a more leisurely elevation. We even managed to squeeze-in a rope work  assessment so the county now has another Terrain 2 permit holder.

All-in-all a great weekend with thanks as always to all the leaders and drivers for making it happen.
