September in the Black Mountains

After an enforced hiatus, we got the Hill Walking show back on the road over the weekend of 23rd–24th September, with a dash out to the Black Mountains. Given the recent weather we were very lucky to get a fine day on the Saturday, so we made the most of it with a 21km traverse of the western ridge, from Cwmdu back to camp at New Court Farm. Conditions on Sunday wasn't quite so clement but nevertheless a lot better than were forecast, enabling a circular dash over Hay Bluff from Stone Cross.
