September in the Peak

19th September 2024

September in the Peak

A small but perfectly formed trip to Peak District for our regular September Trip. Much like our May trip, Saturday was glorious but Sunday, not so much. Greenacres in Nether Booth was a new campsite for us but will be going back next time we're in the area.

Saturday saw two walking parties exploring the delights of Kinder Scout while the third went hunting for aircraft crash sites on Bleaklow and the High Peak. Sunday involved re-jigged teams blasting-out a route back from Castleton, via Mam Tor and Hollins Cross. A quick blast because the weather was mostly grim!

Thanks to all the party leaders for their skills, as well as Culverston & Vigo Scout groups for use of their bus once again. Also to Dave, Judy and Neil for driving the bus, Dom for offering his car to transport some bodies and Michelle for hauling some kit. Finally Mr Fry Sir who was our Home Contact for this trip.
