This event is for adult leaders, from any section, who want to be assessed for a Hill Walking Permit or are working towards a permit and would like some formal training. A full description of the Hill Walking Permit scheme can be found here. Those being assessed will also have to complete a Homepaper and attend an evening session in Kent before the assessment weekend. Dates for this will be advised but most likely to be in October.
We will have an assessor on this trip who can assess scrambling. This is open to any Terrain 2 permit holders that would like to try and add scrambling to their permit. In which case you should apply for Assessment and select the relevant options on page 2 of the form. If you are being assessed you will be expected to pay the full fee for the weekend.
You can apply for Assessment at any time using this button. You will also have to complete the Event application for the trip itself.

Base camp will be at Cornel Scout Centre. We have used this centre before and it has good facilities including bunk rooms, toilets and showers, a drying room, kitchen, diner/lounge area. You will just need to bring a sleeping back and pillow/ However, cornel is in the middle of nowhere and there are no local shops!
The application form below is for the trip itself and should be completed by all those who would like to come for both training or assessment
