IMC to the rescue!
2nd November 2012
Club members were happy to stop and help a lady who had collapsed on Cribyn during our recent trip to the Brecon Beacons. Fellow walkers had already stopped to help but our shelter and flasks of hot drink were invaluable as we waited in a bitterly cold NE wind for Brecon Mountain Rescue to arrive.
The lady was experienced and well equipped but suffered an unexpected medical condition and subsequently hypothermia. Much to her embarrassment, MR decided that as it was already on the way, she should get a lift off the mountain in a Big Yellow Taxi and they have posted some excellent footage of the rescue on You tube.
Remember kids, always pack a hot flask and a shelter, you never know when they might come in handy...and pop a couple of quid in the MR collection pot next time too.
